Simple. Strong. Proven.Now Smarter.

A purpose-built Stoll sprayer combining Carbon Bee camera technology with ARAG Flowtron PWM individual nozzle control.

The Carbon Bee Series isn’t for everyone.

It has been developed for growers who are looking beyond the way spraying has traditionally been done — growers who understand the cost of chemical, the increasing importance of precision application, and the potential value of applying product only where, when and at the rate it is actually needed.

This is emerging technology.

There is still more to learn. More capability to unlock. And Australian farming conditions will continue to challenge and shape what this technology can do.

But we believe the opportunity is significant.

That’s why Stoll’s has chosen to invest in it now.

The technology

Less about cameras. More about what they can make possible.

Camera spraying is often talked about simply in terms of detecting weeds and turning nozzles on and off.

We see a much bigger picture.

The real opportunity is greater control over every litre of chemical leaving the boom.

The Stoll platform

Put the chemical where it is needed.
Reduce application where it isn’t.

Less about cameras. More about what they can make possible.

The objective is simple:

Depending on the crop, weeds, chemical program and conditions, that has the potential to significantly reduce unnecessary chemical use and therefore operating costs.

But it isn’t about chasing a headline percentage.

It’s about making better application decisions, paddock by paddock and season by season.

Green-on-brown. And beyond.

Carbon Bee technology provides green-on-brown weed detection, allowing the system to identify green plants against a brown background and target those weeds individually.

The system also has developing green-on-green capabilities, opening the door to increasingly sophisticated detection within growing crops.

Green-on-brown. And beyond.

We are deliberately careful about how we talk about this capability.

Different crops, weeds, growth stages, environmental conditions and operating speeds can influence performance. This is technology that will continue to evolve.

We would rather work with a customer to understand where Carbon Bee can deliver genuine value in their operation than promise something the technology cannot yet reliably achieve.

That’s the partnership behind the CB Series.

The camera is only part of the story.

One of the reasons we chose this platform is that the investment doesn’t begin and end with camera spraying.

At the heart of every CB Series sprayer is ARAG Flowtron PWM technology.

The camera is only part of the story.

Flowtron provides individual nozzle control and allows the sprayer to compensate across the boom when turning — helping maintain a more consistent application rate rather than the over-application and under-application that can occur across a conventional boom during turns.

That precision matters whether the cameras are operating or not.

It means the CB Series begins as an extremely capable precision application machine before Carbon Bee detection is even brought into the equation.

Precision now. Camera capability on top.

That’s an important distinction.

We don’t believe technology should be fitted simply because it is new.

It needs to earn its place on the sprayer.

Turn compensation

When you turn, what are your nozzles really putting out? Inside, outside and everything in between — see what happens across your boom, then watch what happens with PWM fitted.

One package

Why purpose-built?

The CB Series isn’t a standard Stoll sprayer with cameras bolted onto it afterwards.

It is a dedicated Carbon Bee platform.

The sprayer, boom, camera positioning, wiring, plumbing and Flowtron system are designed to work together as one package.

That matters to us.

Because if you’re making this level of investment in spraying technology, the underlying machine still needs to be simple, strong and dependable enough to do the job it was originally bought to do:

Spray crops.

The technology doesn’t replace the fundamentals of a good sprayer.

It builds on them.

Underneath the technology

Built on a Stoll.

For more than 25 years, we’ve built our sprayers around a fairly simple philosophy.

Simple. Strong. Reliable.

Technology hasn’t changed that.

Underneath the cameras, electronics and individual nozzle control is still a Stoll Boomspray — designed and manufactured in Wagga Wagga for Australian farming conditions.

Because the smartest technology in the world isn’t much use if the machine carrying it can’t get the spraying done.

Accessible components.

And people you can actually call when you need help.

Three companies. One platform.

The CB Series brings together specialist technology from three companies.

Stoll Boomsprays

Australia

Sprayer design, manufacturing, integration and customer support.

ARAG

Italy

Flowtron PWM individual nozzle control and precision application technology.

Carbon Bee

France

Artificial intelligence and camera-based crop and weed recognition technology.

Rather than trying to develop every component ourselves, we’ve partnered with companies that specialise in their respective fields and brought those technologies together on a platform we know.

The result is a system supported by people who understand sprayers, application technology and camera detection.

This isn’t a sale and a handshake.

Perhaps the biggest difference with Carbon Bee is how we believe it should be sold.

We don’t want to simply deliver a machine, demonstrate the cameras and disappear.

This isn’t a sale and a handshake.

Early adopters are an important part of developing this technology.

Their crops, weeds, conditions and experiences provide knowledge that can’t be replicated in a factory or test paddock.

So when someone invests in a CB Series, we see the relationship differently.

That means commissioning the system properly, helping operators understand it, supporting the machine and learning together as its capabilities continue to develop.

There will be questions.

There will be software developments.

There will be things we learn on your farm that we didn’t know when the machine left Wagga.

And what matters is having the right people around the machine when those things happen.

Working with you

You aren’t simply buying technology from us.
We’re working with you to get the most from it.

Who is Carbon Bee for?

Carbon Bee probably isn’t the right choice if you’re simply looking for the cheapest way to replace your current sprayer.

There are other Stoll models designed for exactly that.

The CB Series is worth a serious conversation if you:

  • use significant volumes of chemical and can see meaningful value in reducing unnecessary application;
  • want individual nozzle PWM control regardless of whether camera spraying is being used;
  • have farming situations where targeted application could provide a genuine advantage;
  • are interested in where green-on-green detection and crop recognition may take spraying in the future;
  • value getting into technology early enough to understand it as it develops; and
  • are prepared to work with us rather than expecting every capability of an emerging technology to be solved on day one.

Who is Carbon Bee for?

For the right operation, the question isn’t simply:

“How much does camera spraying cost?”

The better question is:

“How much could better application save my business over the life of the sprayer?”

That’s the conversation we’re interested in having.

A Stoll CB4 side on in a paddock

The numbers need to be your numbers.

Every farming operation is different.

Chemical spend is different. Weeds are different. Cropping programs are different. Hectares are different.

That’s why we’re cautious about throwing around enormous chemical-saving percentages.

The numbers need to be your numbers.

Instead, we’ll sit down with you and look at your operation.

  • What are you spraying?
  • How many hectares?
  • What are you currently spending?
  • Where could targeted spraying be used?
  • Where will PWM improve application?
  • And where might the technology develop further during the life of the machine?

Then we can have a sensible conversation about whether the investment makes sense.

Not based on somebody else’s farm.
Based on yours.

The future won’t arrive all at once.

We don’t know exactly what spraying will look like in ten years.

But we are confident it will involve more sensing, more individual nozzle control, better information and increasingly precise decisions about where chemical is applied.

The CB Series is our investment in that future.

Not because technology is fashionable.

Not because every farmer needs cameras tomorrow.

But because chemical is too expensive to waste, application accuracy matters, and we believe sprayers are going to become increasingly intelligent.

Those are the growers we built the CB Series for.

For some growers, waiting will make sense.
For others, there is value in starting that journey now.
