Hayes Spraying is a family owned and operated company based in Goondiwindi, Queensland, that has been producing spraying equipment for over 25 years.

The company started with the principal and manager Maurie Hayes, contract spraying in the 1970's. Through necessity Maurice manufactured his own equipment, which grew into the business today. Today Hayes Spraying has a state of the art workshop facility and has a dedicated team of employees, many of which have had a practical experience in the spraying industry. The Hayes Spraying theme is to build reliable, robust, simple, value for money spray equipment.

With farmers being under constant pressure to stay productive, work with smaller windows and less labour, it is no surprise the boomsprays are getting larger. Hayes Spraying has been at the forefront of this trend and have consistently produced high class robust, large broadacre sprayers. Continuing in this trend Hayes Spraying are excited to announce the release of their latest and largest sprayer, the 48 metre, with 8000 litre tank.

Testing the new sprayer has taken place over the last three seasons in the north west of New South Wales, with outstanding results.

The first sprayer was purchased by Matt Harris of Plainview, Cryon, 2004. The sprayer has covered more than 400,000 hectares in this time and has performed above expectations. Matt says that 'one man can comfortably spray 2000 acres in a day'. At present there are over 6 other 48m sprayers operating, all with great success, over a variety of conditions.

Testament to the design of the Hayes Sprayers there were no major design changes in the building of the 48m sprayer - everything just got bigger!

The 48m sprayer includes all the regular features of a Hayes Sprayer and has a large choice of options so that you can customise the boomspray to the way that you want it. The standard features include a self-levelling boom, that is fully suspended by twin chains, all mounted to a strong parallelogram lift. The self levelling, truss design and the twin chains allow the boom to move and flex, so that no stress is transferred through the boom or back to the chassis of the sprayer. This greatly enhances the life of the sprayer and eliminates downtime due to boom failure.

The suspension on the trailer of the sprayer is a bogie independent coil spring suspension on large 16.9 x 30 wheels and tyres. The suspension provides a smooth ride so that the boom is very stable and gives superior tip to target control. Large tyres are able to 'walk' through gutters or over obstacles because of the independent suspension, and combined have a large 'footprint' that reduces soil compaction. The high chassis gives plenty of clearance, for late spraying on maturing crops and allows air movement under the trailer and reduces the problems associated with dust.

The spraying system is kept simple. All hoses and fittings are standard sizes with out any 'special' parts. A simple plumbing layout without any deadends, ensures decontaminations are throrough and quick, allowing quick turnaround times when changing chemicals.

A Hypro hydraulic drive centrifugal pump is plumbed for fast filing and spraying, and can be fitted with suction probes for quick hands-off chemical handling. These compact low maintenance pumps are perfect for spraying having very low maintenance costs. The Hypro is available in stainless steel as an option, which are able to handle all harsh chemicals and and fertilizers.

Hayes Spraying manufacture a full range of broadacre sprayers, ranging from 18m to 48m, with 2000lt to 8000lt tank sizes both in manual fold and hydraulic fold.

The Hayes Spraying range includes three point linkages sprayers, truck and utility mounted sprayers, single axled and bogie axled trailing sprayers along with custom fitted weedseeker units.
