Leighton's Twin Tank Trailer:

Another project that we undertook for Leighton Contractors was our "twin tank trailer' which again had a single-sided boom that was to be used for spraying curing compound on new highways as they were being contstructed.

This trailer was fully road registered and featured twin 800lt tanks to enable Leighton's to spray one product when heading one way, then turning around and applying a second different product coming back the other way.

The boom was divided into different sections to enable different width slabs to be sprayed and featured height adjustable end nozzles at various spaces along the boom to allow the edge of the slab to be sprayed.

The boom was manual fold with an electric 12v winch set-up for height adjustment which allowed the whole boom to be raised or lowered at the press of a button.

There was also a TeeJet 844e Rate Controller fitted to make sure that the correct rate was being applied and also to record exactly how much liquid was going out.
